Arc'teryx, the ceiling brand of outdoor sports products, released its first cross-country running shoe Norvan Vt in 2017. Arc'teryx's cross-country running shoes are divided into three series, namely: Vt Vertical Terrain vertical terrain, Ld Long Distance long distance, Sl Super Light ultra-light. Today, it has been updated to the third generation of products. The name Norvan comes from North Vancouver, which represents high-performance cross-country running system. In 2018, I reviewed the first generation of Arc'teryx's long-distance trail running shoe, the Norvan Ld. This time, I'm reviewing the third generation, the Norvan Ld 3, which is a complete overhaul compared to the original. Overall, the Norvan Ld 3 maintains Arc'teryx's signature design style, with a consistently simple color scheme and a premium feel. The upper is constructed from a single-layer mesh Cordura, offering improved breathability compared to the first generation's tightly woven upper. A heat-laminated TPU film supports the upper, which, thanks to the heat-laminated TPU film around the entire midsole, allows for greater wading depth. The Norvan Ld 3's upper is a single-piece molded upper, with stitching only at the heel cup. This heel cup features a hardened heel support for support and lock-in, and the Arc'teryx logo is printed on the outer heel. The multi-layer anti-kick design on the toe protects the toes and prevents them from being injured by kicking sharp rocks.
