Arc'teryx, a leading outdoor brand, released its first trail running shoe, the Norvan VT, in 2017. Arc'teryx's trail running shoes are divided into three series: the VT Vertical Terrain, the Ld Long Distance, and the Sl Super Light. Now in their third generation, the Norvan name comes from North Vancouver, representing a high-performance trail running system. In 2018, I reviewed Arc'teryx's first-generation long-distance trail running shoe, the Norvan Ld. This time, I'm reviewing the third-generation Norvan Ld 3, which is a complete transformation from the original. In terms of overall appearance, the Norvan Ld 3 maintains Arc'teryx's consistent design style, with the color scheme remaining as "plain" as ever, using solid colors to create a sense of luxury. The upper is made of a single-layer mesh Cordura upper, which is more breathable than the first-generation tightly woven upper. The upper is hot-pressed with a Tpu film to support the upper. Thanks to the hot-pressed Tpu film close to the entire circle of the midsole, the Norvan Ld 3 has a deeper wading depth . The Norvan Ld 3 upper is molded in one piece and is only stitched in the center of the heel cup. The heel cup has a hard support that can effectively support and lock the heel. The Arc'teryx logo is printed on the outside of the heel. The multi-layer anti-kick design on the toe protects the toes and prevents them from being kicked by sharp rocks and causing injuries.
